Automatic Extinguishers are designed to counter these risks by providing a fixed permanent fire fighting unit that operates automatically at an early stage in the fires development. Automatic extinguishers are permanently installed immediately adjacent and directly above the fire risk with a discharge nozzle directed vertically downwards.
Each unit is fitted with a heat activated glass bulb sprinkler head. The bulb is designed to break at a fixed temperature usually between 60-70 degrees celsius to automatically release the seal on the extinguisher allowing full discharge of the suppressant.
