What IS Electrical Safety Certificate?

Landlord Certificate, Electrical Safety Certificate, Electrical Installation Condition Report…
However you call it. You have to have it…

What is EICR?

Electrical fires are most common in any type of premises, for that reason electrical safety of the installation must be inspected by a competent company (like us). Electrical inspection process is now called as Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) or electrical safety report.

What does EICR include?

EICR known as electrical installation condition report will conduct if there is a risk of electrical shock, means of earthing secure and functional, if all electrical installation is in correct working order, if there are any defects within the installation, if it’s safe to use. Consumer unit inspection is one of the most important step of any electric inspection and EICR.

How often do you need an EICR?

Electrical Installation certificate is normally valid for 5 years. Change of occupancy and change of use may invalidate your certificate. It’s also a legal requirement that change of occupancy or change of use needs to be reinspected and this is the landlord’s responsibility about electric safety.

What should I trust you with electrical safety reports?

EICR Certificates should be issued by a competent and accredited electrical contractor company.

We have have provided EICR certificates for numerous clients in London who run HMOs (houses of multiple occupancy), restaurants and take-aways, supermarkets, bakeries, retail stores, office spaces, CQC registered GPs, dental practices, care and supported living accommodations, industrial units, warehouses and domestic properties.
